As the first vaccine shipments arrive at hospitals across the U.S., Dr. Robert “Chip” Schooley, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Disease, discusses the current state of the pandemic and why we need a vaccine. Topics include the immunobiology of coronavirus infection, the different vaccine platforms, and the vaccine planning efforts at UC San Diego Health. The talk is followed by a Q&A moderated by Dr. Steven Garfin, interim dean of UC San Diego School of Medicine.
