Ahead of Thursday’s meeting by an outside panel to consider approving Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, Stephen Hahn, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, tells TODAY that “I’m not going to prejudge what the panel is going to say,” but despite reports of allergic reactions in the United Kingdom, “our initial assessment is that this is a vaccine that does meet our criteria.” He says he is concerned by surveys that say that 41 percent of Americans want to wait before getting vaccinated: “We need to get to herd immunity.”
