Vitamin B12 Deficiency

3. Some medications
4. Intestinal disease (celiac disease, Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis)
5. Pregnancy.
Lack of vitamin B12 is serious since it can cause permanent nerve damage.
Many people with B12 deficiency can be treated by eating more animal products, and most can be treated by taking B12 supplements or B12 injections.
