When choosing canned seafood opt for brands that are ocean friendly, third party certifications such as MSC and ASC are indicators that the seafood has been sustainability and responsibly sourced. Some canned seafood manufactures also carry an additional certification, The B corp certification. This rigorous third party certification shows that the company has made a pledge to both social and environmental responsibility.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp chives, minced
1 Jalapeño, seeded and diced
1 tbsp Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1, 6oz can of shrimp or crab, rinsed and drained
A healthy pinch of spring mixed greens
2 slices of whole grain toast or 1 sprouted grain english muffin toasted
Sweet paprika for dusting
Instructions:
1. Combine chives, jalapeno, mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl. Mix well.
2. Add shrimp and fold ingredients together.
3. Top toast with a pinch of spring greens
4. Place a healthy dollop or two on top of the greens.
5. Finish with paprika.
