In this episode I talk about vitamin D deficiency and ways to get more vitamin D in your system. The only way to find out if your deficient is by getting blood work done or simply looking at the foods you eat. If you aren’t eating foods rich in vitamin D or taking a supplement then most likely you may be deficient in this vitamin. My doctor also told me that some African Americans don’t absorb the sun as well as others and therefore have to be put on a supplement. I was pretty blown away when she told me that! I always Thought Because I was black that I didn’t need much vitamin D and turns out that that’s a big misconception that most people have.
