Covid update: India's vaccine software; USA on Pfizer; WHO on immunity barrier

From India making preparations to begin mass vaccinations, to the World Health Organisation warning against complacency – here are the top news updates on the Covid-19 pandemic. Details of India’s frontline workers will be stored in the Co-WIN software ahead of immunisation. The government said that vaccine manufacturers may start getting licences to begin immunisation in India in coming weeks. An expert group has recommended to the government that healthcare and frontline workers, and those aged above 50 or with comorbidities, be vaccinated first. In international news, a report by staff of the US Food and Drug Administration said that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is highly effective without any safety concerns which might hinder its approval. A final decision is expected on December 10.
