New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell on Saturday said that the province was reporting 23 new cases of the coronavirus, the largest single-day increase since the pandemic was first declared in March.
She stressed it was a worldwide issue that the province was not immune to.
Russell said they were facing a “serious situation” with the renewed transmission of the virus, saying their own situation with the virus can turn “very quickly.” She said to bring the two regional zones out of orange phase and back to yellow phase, they need a renewed commitment to slowing the spread, including by reducing the number of contacts to as low as possible.
