Watermelon rind, much like watermelon flesh, is mostly made of water.
Most of us only eat the juicy flesh of a watermelon; however, the rind is completely edible as well. Furthermore, the it is beneficial to your body in a number of ways. In fact, around 95% of a watermelon’s nutritional value comes from its rind.
Today, I’ll show you another dish that you’ll surely love. This is another episode of repurposing food waste. Consume the nutritional value while helping our Mother Earth as well.
Ingredients:
Oil
Onion
Garlic
Shrimp paste/ alamang
Chopped watermelon-rind
You may eat the rind as it is, just prepare a simple dipping sauce.
Vinegar
Salt
Ground black pepper
Sugar
Chilli powder(optional)
