Ingredients for “Homemade Chyawanprash”:-
500g-Amla/Gooseberry
500g-Jaggery (gud)
½-Cup(150g) Honey (shahad)
1-Cup(200g) Dates (khajoor)

Spice Ingredients:-
20-25nos- Fresh holy Basil Leaf (tulsi)
10g-Dry Ginger/Fresh Ginger (adrak)
1inch-Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
10nos-Green Cardamom (hari ilaayachi)
10nos-Cloves (Laung)
2-tbsp Black Peppercorn (kali mirch)
10nos-Pipli Long Pepper (optional)
1-tsp Cumin Seeds (jeera)
1-Flower Mace Spice (optional)
2-tbsp Fennel Seeds (saunf)
2-3nos- Bay Leaf (tej paata)
2-tbsp Dried Rose Petals (optional)
10-12nos-Saffron threads (kesar)

It is advised to consume chyawanprash in the winters or flu seasons only, as most herbs present in the tonic are known to produce heat in the body; hence avoid having it in the sweltering hot months.
Children: ½ to 1 tbsp
Teenagers: 1 to 2 tbsp
Adults: 1 to 3 tbsp
Chyawanprash can be consumed on an empty stomach in the morning or before a meal; if taken twice a day, then one can also take it 30 minutes before dinner or 2 hours after dinner.

Benefites:-

Amla/Gossberry- Vitamin C in Amla helps to boost your immunity, metabolism and prevents various viral and bacterial infections, including cold and cough. It also boosts digestion.

Saffron threads- It is rich in antioxidants are famous in lightening the skin colour and improving complexion.

Pippali or Indian long pepper-extensively used for the treatment of indigestion, heartburn, diarrhoea, cholera, asthma, etc. It also improves digestion and skin health.

Basil Leaf- Being a powerhouse of antioxidants, the holy basil helps in mitigating stress and conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, inflammatory bowel conditions, rheumatoid arthritis etc. Chewing of Tulsi leaves soothes fever, headache, sore throat, cold, cough, flu and various other infections.

Cardamom/elaichi- It has potent antioxidant and diuretic properties. Not only does it help in managing diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure levels but also aids in weight loss and improves heart, and liver health.

Honey/shahad- It is a powerhouse of phytonutrients that has myriad benefits including treating respiratory anomalies, promoting digestion, enhancing hair and skin health, aiding in weight loss and relieving sore throat.

Cow Ghee- One of the treasured foods, it is an excellent source of energy. It holds high significance in keeping the body warm, helping on shedding weight, clearing blocked nose, enhancing digestion, managing diabetes and promoting cardiac activity.

Dried ginger powder- It is an effective cure for indigestion, sore throat, cold and cough. It is used to treat nausea. Ginger’s therapeutic properties help stimulate blood circulation, cleanse the bowels and kidneys, remove toxins from the body and nourish the skin.

Black pepper- major benefit of consuming pepper is that it aids in weight loss. It is also said to be good for digestion and prevents cancer by detoxifying the body.

Cinnamon-It is Loaded With Antioxidants.

Javitri- It contains exceptionally high amount of minerals, copper and iron.
Bay leaf- It is a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Also regular inclusion of bay leaves in meals promotes general health.

Jaggery- Consuming jaggery helps in improving digestion, it activates the digestive enzymes and stimulates bowel movement, which further helps in improving digestion and relieves constipation.
