Top 3 Ways to Naturally Boost Your Immune System During COVID

With COVID’S recent spike it’s more important than ever to focus on our health.

Specifically focusing on strengthening our immune systems to improve our chances of fighting COVID off if we happen to contract it.⁣

In this video I share my top 3 ways to naturally boost your immune system NOW through the foods that you eat.🍎⁣

If you don’t have time to watch, catch the show notes below! 👇🏼⁣

✨Reduce your sugar and refined carb intake as much as possible! This includes anything made from processed wheat flour. ⁣

Why❓⁣

👉🏼Studies have shown that refined sugars can suppress your immune system for up to 5 hours after ingesting! Yikes!!⁣

✨Focus on eating an abundance of clean Whole Foods that are high in vitamin C, A, and phytonutrients. This includes broccoli, red and orange peppers, sweet potatoes, squash, and berries🥦🍓🍠⁣

How❓⁣

👉🏼 Aim to eat 2 servings of fruits and 8 or more servings or veggies a day! Can make this easier by eating 1 big salad a day (will easily have between 3-5 servings of veggies) and one smoothie a day with fresh spinach or kale

✨Eat fermented probiotic and prebiotic foods that support a healthy microbiome/gut⁣

How❓⁣

👉🏼 Probiotic foods include kombucha (@gtskombucha is my favorite brand!), kimchi, miso, sauerkraut, tempeh, and kefir.⁣

Prebiotic foods include artichokes, apples, apple cider vinegar, flax seeds, plantains, and bananas 🍌 ⁣

Why ❓⁣

👉🏼 When you have a healthy gut, your digestive system is able to properly extract and utilize the vitamins and nutrients from the foods you’re eating. This then results in your immune system being fed what it needs to work like a well oiled machine. ⁣

However if you eat crap food, (check out tip 1 & 2), this will not have a positive effect on your immune system. Instead it will actually suppress it.⁣
