Fortress COVID-19 Home Test detects antibody(s) in your blood that your body produces during an infection or exposure to foreign materials like bacteria or viruses. Antibodies are produced by body’s immune system to protect you against disease.
If a person is infected by any bacteria or viruses for the first time, the body reacts by producing an antibody called IgM (Marked M on the device). In any subsequent exposure to the same bacteria or virus, body produces another antibody called IgG. Either of the two types of antibody or both antibodies, if positive, indicate that the person has been infected with COVID-19 and the body has developed immunity against the virus.
