Edward Esko: The Yin and Yang of the Corona Virus, An Opportunity for Unity

Join me in this conversation with Edward Esko, one of the world’s leading teachers and counselors on the macrobiotic way of life as he explores his new book, Strengthening Natural Immunity: A Plant-Based Macrobiotic Approach, written with the Covid-19 pandemic in mind. Ed looks at the pyschology of populations living in pandemic “hotspots”; the correlation between toxic dead zones in the environment and the human body; the timeline in the Great Pyramid which stops in 2038 – meaning a new orientation toward spirituality and consciousness will arise; how our food choices raise our level of consciousness and abundance (and specifically how whole grains with awns channel the energy of the Universe); how eating communal grain offers the opportunity to create cohesive communities. In this talk, Ed offer a new hope for humanity, like the dot within the yin yang symbol which represents transformation to a new and opposite orientation. Ed views the pandemic as an opportunity to usher in a new era of peace and harmony, one where will no longer be alone but “all one.”

Edward Esko studied with Michio Kushi for many years and has served as Executive Director of the East West Foundation in Boston and Director of Education/Dean of Faculty and Associate Director of the Kushi Institute, formerly located in Western Massachusetts.

Ed has personally counseled and guided thousands of people toward improved health through the macrobiotic diet and way of life. He has lectured in over a dozen countries and authored or edited more than twenty books, including Holistic Health through Macrobiotics, Natural Healing through Macrobiotics, and The Macrobiotic Approach to Cancer. He is the co-author of the 2020 book, Strengthening Natural Immunity: A Plant-Based Macrobiotic Approach, written with the COVID-19 pandemic in mind.

Edward co-founded the International Macrobiotic Institute (IMI) in 2016 to further the dream and vision of his mentor, Michio Kushi, and to make quality macrobiotic education and guidance available to people around the world. Together with his wife, Naomi Ichikawa Esko, Edward offers a variety of personal and group services, including personal dietary and way of life counseling, lectures, and online courses.

Ed offers online macrobiotic courses through his website International Macrobiotic Institute along with other Institute faculty members. The Institute also offers individual and group courses relating to diet, weight loss and cooking. Ed participates in live events through the Kushi School New York, an affiliate of IMI.
