Wellness Wednesday #25: Not an Election update, but Immune System boosting!!

Our health and wellness needs to be taken seriously every year, flu season or not. What we put into our bodies has a direct effect on how well our body operates. Simply put, if you treat your body like poo, it’ll treat you like poo. I tend to favor more natural, homeopathic interventions for my health and wellness. We are continuing to learn more about what these natural substances are and how they can play a pivotal role in immune system function as well as other bodily functions. Vitamins and minerals are key components to our diet that we can get naturally from healthy foods, vegetables, protein, and fruits. If we don’t have a balanced and healthy diet, then we need to make sure we are supplementing these vitamins and minerals and other nutrients(antioxidants and phytonutrients). Key vitamins, minerals, and other products that may boost your immune system include, but are not limited to: Vitamin A/C/D/E, Glutathione Zinc, Selenium, Elderberry, and Apple Cider Vinegar. I’m going to spend the next few weeks highlighting one of the above and the immunological properties it holds + the dietary sources you can get these from, as well as other supplementation that I recommend and utilize myself! You can kind these posts on my instagram and then I will combine everything into a blog post. In no way am I an immune system or nutrition expert, but I know enough to give you the tools to shoot for a healthier life and flu season. But for now, get some more sleep, drink your water, avoid sugar(especially added) and increase your vegetable intake.
