Hey guys,

With us all being back in lockdown and the cold season arriving, I thought it would be a great time to bring back an immune-boosting recipe for you.

This recipe is high in minerals and promotes a stronger defence against colds and flu.

You can enjoy this as a smoothie bowl or as a smoothie and the consistency is completely up to you. If you want it thicker just add less liquid.

Here are the health benefits:

Orange juice: Antioxidant-rich (thanks to vitamin C), anti-inflammatory, fibre, folate, potassium, and calcium.

Coconut water: With its Vitamin C, potassium and magnesium content, one of the many benefits of coconut water is that it is really good at maintaining a low BP.

Banana: Bananas provide a natural energy booster, along with potassium, iron, and beneficial blood sugar regulation.

Pineapple: Improves digestion, boosts the immune system, increases energy, controls blood pressure, high in vitamin C

Mango: High in vitamin C and mineral, may decrease your risk of cancer, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis and heart disease. Helps to keep a healthy immune system.

Chia seeds: High in fibre & minerals, Boost immunity, is an anti-inflammatory.

Turmeric: Has anti-inflammatory properties and detoxifies the liver, Improves digestion, boost the immune system, promotes weight loss Turmeric Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich, battles cystic fibrosis, free radical-fighting, lowers cholesterol

Ginger: Helps to reduce inflammation, helps to aid digestion, helps to increase energy levels, helps to burn fat

Maca Root Benefits: Maca root helps balance hormones and due to an excess of environmental estrogens, most people’s hormones are out of natural balance. Maca stimulates and nourishes the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are the “master glands” of the body.
