Coronavirus: BC health officials provide COVID-19 update as cases surge by record 425 | FULL

British Columbia reported a record 425 new cases of COVID-19 in the province on Thursday, the highest single-day increase since the pandemic began.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix announced the number during an update on the province’s response to COVID-19.

The province’s death toll remained unchanged, but the number of patients in hospital climbed to 97, the highest it’s been since April 27. Henry called on people to get back to the “basics” of washing hands, covering their mouths when they cough and maintaining physical distance.

Henry also said they would be providing updated modelling projections on Nov. 12.
