India Fights Back: Falling Antibodies, Threat to Immunity | Episode – 129

A new study has found that post-Covid-19 infection, antibody response actually scales down instead of building immunity over time. This was witnessed more among the elderly group than other groups. The researchers at Imperial College in London tested more than 365,000 people between June 20 and September 28.
Analysis of finger-prick tests carried out at home between 20 June and 28 September found that the number of people testing positive dropped by 26.5% across the study period, from almost 6% to 4.4%. There was a fall in antibodies by 26 per cent — which was greater among those above the age of 65 as compared to the younger population.
In this edition of India Fights Back we will analyse antibodies and Covid-19
