I really wanted to fall in love with the new CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Face Serum, but because of one issue I couldn’t. The CeraVe new Vitamin C Serum is a super lightweight serum that smooths over skin very easily. It works well in my routine and never causes any pilling= it layers very well. After the Vitamin C Serum “sets” it has a very nice matte finish and works well under sunscreen and foundation.
Another thing that I love about this CeraVe Serum is that it is fragrance free! Love fragrance free products! This is also packaged decently- although I do find the metal type tubes to be a little clumsy.
My main disappointment with the CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Face Serum is the high amount of denatured alcohol. This is ingredient that gives it the lightweight, silky, quick drying feeling.
My skin can handle the alcohol as long as I don’t use this serum several days in a row. The other thing I found that helps is to use this serum between two other products that are highly moisturizing. If I do this I find that I can get away with using the Vitamin C Face Serum without getting overly dry or sensitized skin.
