St. Luke's Lecture Annual Lecture – COVID-19: A Closer Look

The Diocese of Jamaica & the Cayman Islands in association with St Luke’s Church presents the Annual Lecture Series: COVID-19: A Closer Look.

Dr Celia Christie-Samules, C.D., Professor of Pediatrics (Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology and Public Health), UWI, Mona Campus delves deep into the local, regional and global impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic. In her presentation, she explores how the novel corona virus affects both the medical and mental state of patients and offers words of comfort as found in the Holy Bible.

Dr Karlene Boyce Reid, St Simon’s Basic School Board Chairman then details how the school is adjusting to the new learning environment while noting the still urgent needs of the students, teachers and administration.

St Luke’s Choir Director and soloist Christine Nevers-MCDonald gives a stirring rendition of If I can Help Somebody accompanied by organist Stephen Shaw Naar while The Philippians deliver a lively version of This is My Father’s World on steel pan.
