We are obviously NOT healthcare professionals but we are Google savants! Please see the list of fruits and veggies that will keep you healthy during this scary time:

–VEGGIES–

KALE: Greens such as kale, spinach, and Swiss chard are immune-boosting foods that contain high levels of vitamin C, which not only packs a powerful antioxidant punch, it helps fight off infection and regenerate other antioxidants in the body, including vitamin E. They also contain folate, another immune booster

SPINACH: Rich in vitamin C. It’s also packed with numerous antioxidants and beta carotene, which may increase the infection-fighting ability of our immune systems.

CELERY: Your liver’s individual immune system also relies on the undiscovered types of mineral salts inside of celery; it uses them specifically to strengthen its lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell), allowing the liver to fight more battles for us and have a better chance of ridding us of strep and other SIBO bacteria that can tag along with it. The white blood cells absorb the mineral salts through their cell structure as nectar and then use them as an offense mechanism, not just a defense mechanism.

BROCCOLI: Packed with vitamins A, C, and E, as well as many other antioxidants and fiber

CARROTS: Carrots are an excellent source of beta carotene, which gives them their bright color. One of beta carotene’s jobs is to support the body’s mucus membrane, which lines the respiratory and intestinal tracts, making it harder for bacteria to enter the bloodstream and cause trouble

TURMERIC: used for years as an anti-inflammatory in treating both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

GINGER: Ginger may help decrease inflammation, which can help reduce a sore throat and other inflammatory illnesses. Ginger may also help decrease nausea.

–FRUITS–

APPLES: This fruit contains phytochemical antioxidants, according to a study published in Nutrition Journal. These antioxidants help boost immunity and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

ORANGES: Oranges are packed with vitamin C, an essential nutrient when you’re feeling under the weather. According to a review conducted by the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, at the Australian National University, vitamin C is helpful in preventing the common cold for people exposed to sickness-inducing environments, such as cold weather, and can help lower the duration and severity of a cold.

KIWI: kiwis are naturally full of a ton of essential nutrients, including folate, potassium, vitamin K, and vitamin C. Vitamin C boosts white blood cells to fight infection

BLUEBERRIES: Blueberries are filled with antioxidants that can help treat and prevent coughs and colds. According to research conducted by the University of Auckland, consuming flavonoids — a class of antioxidants found in blueberries — made adults 33 percent less likely to catch a cold than those who did not eat flavonoid-rich foods or supplements daily.

STRAWBERRIES: When you think of foods high in vitamin C, oranges probably come to mind—but strawberries are also a great source of this antioxidant, with 100 percent (nearly 100 milligrams) of your daily requirement in just one cup of sliced berries. Strawberries have been ranked in the top 10 fruits in antioxidant capacity, and this may be a key reason they may help with cancer prevention. Strawberries are a good source of potassium, which has been shown to help protect against heart disease.

LEMONS/LIMES: High in vitamin C, a natural antioxidant which enhances the immune system and has antiviral and antibacterial properties.

GRAPEFRUITS: Grapefruit is packed with vitamin C, making it an immune-boosting essential. The red and pink varieties are especially good choices because, as their rosy color indicates, they’re packed with bioflavonoids, which are phytonutrients. These naturally-occurring compounds cause beneficial reactions in the body, including an added immunity boost
