First of all we should understand the immune system .

It is a complex network of cells that protect our body from infections and attacks germs to keep us healthy. Nutrients that have been identified as critical for the growth and functions of immune cells include Vitamin A, B, C, D, E , Zinc ,Selenium and Iron.

To beat the CORONAVIRUS , we must have good immune system. So food grains are the excellent choice to boost the immunity.

Now the question arise, which grains are best to eat?

So MILLETS are the whole grains which helps to boost our immune system as well as encourages the overall health. They are also rich in several beneficial nutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium, copper, manganese, and iron.They also play a good role in strengthening the immune system and building defences against pathogens.

Millets are the ancient grains which are available in following varieties:-

1. BARNYARD MILLET- It contains a rich source of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and, most notably, micronutrients like iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn )etc.

2. BROWNTOP MILLET- It is rich in fibre, iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium and many other important minerals. Browntop millet eases constipation and helps in detoxifying the body.

3. FINGER MILLET- Finger millet(Ragi) is one of the most popular and commonly consumed millets. It is also a rich source of calcium and other essential minerals.

4. FOXTAIL MILLET- It is rich in dietary fibre, protein, healthy micros (vitamin and minerals) and low in fat. Its iron and calcium content also helps strengthen immunity.

5. KODO MILLET- They are rich in B vitamins, especially niacin, B6 and folic acid, as well as the minerals such as calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and zinc.
