Saba’s Kitchen Garden Part One
I am no gardener. I’m simply someone who has a passion and curiosity for independent reading, research and who LOVES nature.
Over the last decade, especially since self healing from Crohn’s disease, I have become deeply connected to Mother Nature.
Spending time outdoors is one of the most healing and magical aspects of Lifestyle medicine. It’s a “salt of the earth” activity which also connects us to a higher energy.
Since discovering the healing power of nature, my gut instinct and intuition has become acutely sensitive in every aspect of my life.

Creating a bio-diverse and self sustainable garden has been a dream for a few years now. So grateful that it’s finally coming true.
Last year I experimented with growing vegetables for the first time. The garden was a dump, but I still persevered. I grew tomatoes, green beans, aubergines, spinach, chard, lettuce, coriander, herbs and much more. Some grew well, others less so. But I had the will to get out and give it a go. And boy, did it feel good! That experience motivated me to plan ahead for 2020.
The turf was laid down two weeks ago, borders tidied up, the greenhouse has just gone up. I’ve even had a chicken coop and run hand made for me.
Yesterday, I finally got started. I spent half a day in the beautiful warm garden (and strangely deep blue skies), planting vegetable seeds, fruit trees and shrubs. Yes, I know… it’s almost the end of April…. aaarrgh… but I’ve finally got started.

Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can. And you may even enjoy it 🙂
