Coronavirus Diet Chart:
1. Protein:
It Plays a vital role in body’s healing, repair and recovery mechanism. Also, antibodies and immune cells rely on proteins. Protein helps in building muscles and greater muscle mass means better immune system against virus/bacteria.
Eg : seafood,lean meat, poultry, eggs, beans and peas, soy products and unsalted nuts and seeds, milk and dairy products will help in maintaining optimal health.
Daily requirement: 0.8gm of protein per kg
2. Vitamins:
Among all kinds of Vitamins, Vitamin C and Vitamin D play a major role in strengthening one’s immunity.
Vitamin C:
For the same, one should have more citrus fruits and vegetables like Amla, Lemon, Orange and others.
Vitamin D –
Vitamin D, the ‘sunshine vitamin’, is known to help our bodily functions in a number of ways. This nutrient is said to help absorb calcium from the foods eaten, which further helps in strengthening our bones, muscles, teeth and even nails.
Apart from this, vitamin D plays a big role in maintaining our immune strength. Enough vitamin D content in the body may lessen the oxygen requirement in patients affected with Coronavirus.Vitamin D Sufficiency May Help Coronavirus Patients Recover Faster.
Eg:egg yolks and mushrooms are a good source of Vitamin D. Green leafy vegetables, Sunlight, eggs, fatty fishes, milk and products, mushrooms etc.
3. Mineral:
Zinc:
It Protects the Human Body From Entering of the Virus.
It Directly Inhibits Viral Replication.
It Supplementation in Respiratory Infections.
It is another nutrient that helps your immune system and metabolism function. An individual can either take Zinc supplements or inculcate in their diet through cashews, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, among others.
