What’s more, a new analysis suggests that same overactive response may be determined by how the body metabolizes sugar.
If true, the findings add to the similarities between the two highly contagious and sometimes life-threatening viruses.
Both are highly contagious and share many of the same basic symptoms, including cough, fever, and shortness of breath.
Those with underlying health conditions, including diabetes, are at higher risk for becoming seriously ill or dying from COVID-19.
