WATCH: Africa recording low coronavirus cases & deaths: why is that the case?: Part 1

Africa as a whole has recorded a little over 1.4 million Coronavirus cases. That’s less than a quarter the figure for the United States alone. Almost half of the continent’s confirmed cases were in South Africa, but even with that, the death rate is surprisingly low. Locally, scientists are working tirelessly to find a vaccine and to better understand why the death and infection rate is not as high as previously perceived.
