A new study in the New England Journal of Medicine reaffirms that the infection fatality rate for COVID19 is a fraction of a percent; that recovery leads reliably to immunity; and that immunity persists for months. This is all good news, and lends support to naturally achieved herd immunity and an end to the pandemic, yet talk of herd immunity is taboo, and routinely derided as sociopathic heresy.
