Dr Leonard Mermel discusses flu season, COVID 19 and health disparities in Rhode Island, final cut

Rhode Islanders living with lower socioeconomic status are at greater risk of the flu, a just-published study that analyzed influenza cases in the state from the fall of 2013 through spring 2018 has found. Many of those residents are also at increased risk of contracting coronavirus disease, study co-author Dr. Leonard A. Mermel, medical director, epidemiology & infection control, Rhode Island Hospital, told The Journal on Wednesday. His advice includes getting a flu shot. @gwaynemiller #video for @projo – story at providencejournal.com
