COVID-19 spreads from droplets the same way the common cold and the Flu does. No matter what your personal, political or constitutional ideals are, please consider the following.
1. COVID-19 is a killer.
2. COVID-19 has shown us that people who have secondary illnesses such diabetes, lung diseases or any other illness that weakens the immune system, are more likely to die from the virus.
3. Young people have lost limbs and have suffered strokes and other deadly conditions after being infected.
4. COVID-19 can strike the same person again and again.
5. While there are predictions of a potential vaccine, there’s no promise it will work for everyone, nor is there proof that the virus will remain unchanged. Basically it can mutate into another form of the virus to build immunity to vaccination.
6. Please do not politicize COVID-19. This is not a blue or red propaganda campaign. This is a disease whose purpose is to keep growing and evolving into the best virus it can be.
7. YES! It is inconvenient to wear a mask and it’s feels wrong to stop hanging with friends, but consider this: someone important to you can die from COVID-19 because someone you don’t know thought it was dumb to wear a mask and socially distance themselves because it was against their idea of their right to freedom or politics or just because they wanted to stand out and tell the world they didn’t care or didn’t believe in the COVID-19 reality we now live in.
8. No matter what, we are human and we’re smart as individuals, but grouping into opposing idealistic clans is bad for everyone not just the other side.
