IMMUNITY

Intravenous vitamin C and viral infection | Rhonda Patrick

Vitamin C is concentrated in immune cells and protects immune cells from the reactive oxygen species produced during inflammation. Anecdotal data suggest that intravenous vitamin C can shorten the length of COVID-19-related hospitalization. No clinical studies have validated this yet, but recent and ongoing studies are investigating this. Intravenous vitamin C has also been used in other viral diseases such as viral myocarditis and Ebstein-barr virus with mixed results. In this clip, Dr. Rhonda Patrick discusses the safety and side effects of intravenous vitamin C and describes the evidence supporting its use in treating COVID-19.
