Though typically used in small amounts, oregano packs in some important nutrients. Just one teaspoon of dried oregano can fulfill about 8% of your daily vitamin K needs

From helping fight bacteria to reducing inflammation, studies have unearthed some of its impressive potential benefits.
Yes, just one teaspoon of dried oregano can fulfill about 8% of your daily vitamin K needs. What about it? Let’s watch this.

Vitamin K is known as the “blood-clotting vitamin” for its important role in healing wounds. The “K” is derived from the German word koagulation. Vitamin K also plays an important role in bone health as it works with vitamin D to ensure that calcium finds its way to the bones to help them develop properly. It is a fat-soluble vitamin that makes proteins for normal blood clotting.

Bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract naturally make vitamin K.

Those who take antibiotics for an extended period of time can also experience a lack of vitamin K as antibiotics kill the bacteria that create vitamin K.

Deficiency can cause excessive bleeding, which may start from the nose or gums.
Other symptoms can include easy bruising, blood in urine and stools.

Aside from oregano, dietary sources of vitamin K include green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, brocolli, cauliflower and cabbage. So let us start eating healthy foods and use the abundance of nature.
