A Concerned Doctor: Can We Have Immunity to Covid-19 Even if We Didn't Have Covid-19 Yet?

Today Dr. Miskoff discusses a recent article in Nature. This study looked at people who had Covid-19 versus those who were unexposed. SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein (S)-reactive CD4+ T cells in peripheral
blood of patients with COVID-19 was detected in 83% of patients with COVID-19 but also in 35% of Healthy Donors or those with no known exposure. Cross-reactivity from other coronaviruses may explain these findings. This is no guarantee that either those with Covid-19 or without have protection moving forward, but this may help explain why some get more aggressive or severe disease than others.
