Homemade Vitamin Water Recipe: Stress Relief At It's Finest!

I’m a big Vitamin Water fan. It’s only slightly sweet, unlike many other flavored water beverages, and is very refreshing. The only problem is Vitamin Water is still not as healthy of a drink as I wish it was. With that said, I decided to try out a homemade recipe for a stress-relieving Vitamin Water that contained no extra sugar or odd chemicals; just natural ingredients.

I was oddly surprised by how efficient this beverage worked. The flavors of watermelon and calming rosemary dance together quite nice; I dare say they make a wonderful pair. Watermelon also contains a lot of vitamin B6, which is notorious for helping relieve stress, anxiety, and for relaxing. Rosemary, on the other hand, has been shown to break down a chemical called acetylcholine in the brain. This results in better memory, increased concentration, as well as a calmer frame of mind. The strawberries in this recipe contain phytonutrients that help to fight stress related inflammation. The lemon juice added to this recipe helps to maintain a healthy acid-alkaline balance.

After a hard day at work, there’s nothing better than a little bit of natural stress relieving refreshment to lift your spirits.

2 sprigs fresh rosemary

Muddle, like this affordable Browne Foodservice muddle (only $1.08)

Filtered water

1 teaspoon FRESH lemon juice

Mixing bowls, like my Duralex Lys stacking mixing bowls

1 liter container, like a large Mason Jar or an infusing pitcher, such as the Cal-mil Pitcher with an Infusion Perforated Chamber

Instructions:

Muddle the strawberries and rosemary together in a small mixing bowl

Add the watermelon, strawberry, and rosemary to a 1 liter container of your choice

Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the container

Fill the container the rest of the way with filtered water

Let cool in your refrigerator for 4-6 hours

Optional: strain out the fruits

Enjoy!

You can easily add a little bit of sugar to this recipe if you prefer more sweetness in your “Vitamin Water”. Next time you’re feeling a little stressed (or if you are looking for a great beverage to serve your health spa guests) try this recipe out. You’re sure to love it!

Until next time,
