HCQ (And Zn) Post-Exposure Prophylaxis For COVID-19: Randomized Control Trial In The NEJM.

Whiteboard style discussion on a randomized, double blinded, placebo control trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine looking at the use of hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis in those with a high risk exposure to COVID-19. In their supplementary material, they also look at Zinc with the Hydroxychloroquine for post-exposure prophylaxis. They enrolled over 800 patients in the USA and Canada. They found no difference in incidence of COVID-19 in the HCQ versus placebo group. They did see an increased incidence of gastrointestinal side effects in those taking the HCQ.
