9 Tips for Living With Depression
The mental disorder impacting approximately 300 million people, is depression, and affects women more than men. The highest depression rates were among young people, with 63% of teens and 47% of millennials.
Several factors increase the chance of depression, including past or current abuse, be it physical, and emotional. There can be biomedical imbalances that trigger depression, such as vitamin and mineral deficiencies and low neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and others. If you have a cortisol management issue, then you can be vulnerable to depression. An influx of cortisol causes the amygdala to enlarge and get inflamed, causing sleep issues, changes in hormones, and activity levels. The amygdala is associated with emotional responses.
