Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has several important functions. These include helping to protect cells and keeps them healthy maintaining healthy skin, blood vessels, bones, and cartilage helping with wound healing.
The recommended RDA of vitamin C is 40 micrograms. Vitamin C can’t be stored in the body, so you need it in your diet every day. Luckily you should be able to get all the vitamin C you need from your daily diet.
The best thing you can do to maintain your immune system is to adopt healthy living strategies that will benefit the entire body, including your immune system. These strategies might include:

▪ Exercising regularly
▪ Maintaining a healthy weight
▪ Quitting smoking
▪ Drinking alcohol only in moderation
