Given the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, in today’s update video we will list 10 sources and benefits of vitamin C. These are the foods rich in Vitamin C and are foods to eat everyday that can help strengthen and boost your immune system. This video is part of our Top Tips for Parents series 2020.

Among the foods – including fruits and vegetables – are sweet potatoes, citrus fruits, broccoli, peppers etc. These make them some of the Top 10 Healthiest Foods you can eat everyday and they can help you boost and strengthen your immune system.

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has several important functions. These include helping to protect cells and keeps them healthy maintaining healthy skin, blood vessels, bones, and cartilage helping with wound healing.

The recommended RDA of vitamin C is 40 micrograms. Vitamin C can’t be stored in the body, so you need it in your diet every day. Luckily you should be able to get all the vitamin C you need from your daily diet.

The best thing you can do to maintain your immune system is to adopt healthy living strategies that will benefit the entire body, including your immune system. These strategies might include:

▪ Exercising regularly
▪ Maintaining a healthy weight
